Enrolment forms are available from the School Office, and should be filled out and returned to the school.
Prior to a position being offered:
parents are interviewed
students are interviewed and assessed
care is taken to ensure that the school can adequately cater for the needs of each child
If a vacancy is not immediately available, applications are kept on file.
What about Fees?
It is the aim of the school to make Christian Education accessible to as many families as possible. Fees are set to cover most requirements (including excursions) while remaining affordable to families.
What parents have to say...
"We were encouraged by another parent to enrol our first child ... The whole family is involved with the child's education. There is communication between school and parents and we are all working towards teaching our child the same way."
"After considering the fact that our children would spend a considerable amount of their young lives being taught and influenced by someone other than us, we wanted to be sure they would be influenced in a way which was consistent with our own teaching and beliefs. ICS is an extension of our home, complementing our teaching of our children, in a community that upholds God as its central focus."
"The example and guidance of Christian teachers for our children is invaluable."
"We wanted to send our children to a school that upheld our Christian beliefs, and had a high academic standard within a nurturing, caring environment."
What students have to say...
"I love my teacher and I like my friends. I like it being a Christian School and 2 weeks ago we learnt about the only way to go to heaven was through Jesus - which I knew because my family had told me." Yr 1
"I like how we tie in the various elements of subjects with the Bible. In History we relate to the history presented in the Bible. This occurs in many subjects." Yr 7
"People are kinder. If something is wrong they try to cheer you up. I enjoy the friendship other people show and I like my teachers." Yr 4
"It's a smaller school and you are on the same campus for Kinder to Year 12. I really like the rainforest area." Yr 5
"I have just finished Year 12 and am about to start University. The staff encouraged us in our work and in our Christian faith. They developed our skills which helped in the HSC and we can take to whatever we do next." Past student
An invitation from the Board ...
The Illawarra Christian School is an exciting place of learning which is very relevant to the educational needs of today's families. As a Board we strive to ensure that we put into practice the principles which are expressed in this web page. The partnership between parents and staff, and a clear focus on God, creates an environment which encourages students to realise their full potential. We invite interested families to come and see the school in action for themselves.
