ILLAWARRA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL PARENTS
THE INFANTS / PRIMARY SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
Teachers are always happy to hear from parents and make contact themselves when issues arise. Regular school reports and interviews are a valued means of communication. Parents are encouraged to participate in class activities and excursions, and to provide assistance in the classroom on a regular basis. “Boomerang Books’ provide an accessible and practical approach to home-school communication, ensuring that parents and teaching staff are working towards similar goals. Information nights are held prior to the commencement of Kindergarten and Year 7 to allow communication with parents regarding the demands and expectations of each stage of the children’s schooling.
THE SECONDARY SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
Partnership with Parents
Apart from the regular school reports and interviews which are a valued means of communication, teachers are always happy to hear from parents and make contact themselves when issues arise. Parents are encouraged to participate in class activities and excursions. In the junior years diaries are used to communicate on a weekly basis, so parents can always be up to date with their child’s work and can readily communicate with teachers. Information Nights are held in Senior School to communicate with parents the demands and expectations of this stage of their child’s schooling.
