LIBRARY - BOTH CAMPUSES
The library is open at each school for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 to borrow books before school and during lunchtime/afternoon break.
All students in Kindergarten to Year 6 have one period each week to borrow books and to work on information skills.
All infants children are required to bring a library bag. The loan duration for books borrowed from the library is two weeks. It is important that parents ensure all borrowed books are returned to the library on time. If a library book is lost it will be the parent's responsibility to replace the book at their own expense.
Overdue notices are sent to students when their library books are due back in the library. The library loan can be renewed with or without the book being present. If a book is due back and it cannot be found, do not be anxious! In most cases, the book is found eventually - usually at home! Library staff encourage students to look at home again. When students think that they may have returned the item, a check is made on the library shelves.
The library has a range of books available for parents to borrow and you are encouraged to use this service. A number of books, brochures and pamphlets relating to the school's curriculum and policy statements are also available for loan. Please contact the Librarian for any help you require.
BANKING - TONGARRA CAMPUS
Each Wednesday a school banking service is available for all students through the Commonwealth Bank. Arrangements for opening accounts can be made with the office.
LOST PROPERTY - TONGARRA CAMPUS
It is inevitable that valuables brought to the school by students may become lost. It is very time consuming for staff to resolve problems relating to lost property. Any valuables or money brought to school will remain the responsibility of the student. Whilst care will be taken, the school cannot accept responsibility for lost valuables.
Parents should therefore ensure that all personal property such as uniforms, bags, hats and wet weather gear are correctly labelled with your child's name.
Any unclaimed items are sorted at the end of each term and either placed in the clothing pool or donated to local charities.
RECYCLING - BOTH CAMPUSES
The school will be participating in the local Councils' Recycling Programs. All recycling materials generated by the school will be collected fortnightly.
PRIVATE USE OF SCHOOL RESOURCES
ICS. has been blessed with modern functional buildings and a large base of resources.
The facilities are available for 'private' or 'non-school' use.
All requests for 'non-school' usage of school facilities should be directed to the Business Manager or Principal of the relevant campus.
