On Wednesday 5th December, K-6 students participated in a STEAM afternoon. Everyone took part in two of 14 different STEAM-based activities that challenged their design, group work and creativity skills.
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths, and each activity combined some or all of these skills.
Some of the activities included:
- marble roll
- bionic hand
- prosthetic leg
- many different tower constructions
- zip lines and parachutes
- squishy circuits
- chariot races with Blue Bots and Spheros
- makey makey art
- bridge building.
The students enjoyed this opportunity, with many of them continuing to refine their designs over the weekend at home.
A big thank you to all the enthusiastic and creative K-6 staff for their efforts in making this day a success.
