It was a very special day in Kindergarten on Monday 13 August! We celebrated turning 100 (kind of…)!
One hundred days of school is a milestone no matter how old you are, but for our Kindergarten students it’s a particularly special one. Starting Kindy is a big transition (as many a Kindergarten parent can attest!) and it requires a great deal from our students, who are learning to negotiate relationships with new friends and teachers, to listen to important information and take it in, and to come to school day after day, even when they’d sometimes rather be at home.
This week, our Kindy classes celebrated and congratulated each other on having done that very thing not just once this year, but 100 times! We think that was a milestone worth celebrating, so we did it in style.
What’s it like to be 100? We imagined what it would be like to be 100 years old, using walking sticks, having grey hair and needing glasses!
We made 100’s (and 1000’s) bread and painted 100 dots.
We had the best day being 100. Bring on the next hundred!
