It’s the end of an era at ICS as teacher and all-round sporting guru Mr Jason Clifford finishes his time with us.
Mr Clifford has been a fixture (pun intended!) on the sporting fields and in the classrooms of Illawarra Christian School for almost 15 years now. In that time, he’s been at more sporting carnivals than you could poke a javelin at, and seen many, many students through the highs and lows of competition.
His decision to move on from his time teaching here at the end of this term will have a huge impact on the ICS community, and we’ll miss him greatly. We asked him to tell us a little about his time here and what he hopes for the future.
You’re moving on to a working environment outside of school—tell us what you’ll be doing and what you’re looking forward to about it.
I will be selling sports apparel with Struddys.
Struddys is a Brisbane-based sports company that has existed for 44 years in Queensland and is expanding into southern NSW. I think I am a relational type of person and I am mostly looking forward to meeting and building trusting relationships with new clients.
What’s something about your time here at ICS that you’ll always remember?
It has been an absolute blessing to work side by side with Christian brother and sisters. It has been a privilege to work with wonderful teachers, parents and students. The best part of all about working at ICS and something I will never forget is that I have had the honour of being able to speak Jesus and life into the lives of students.
Thanks for all the memories and the fantastic sporting efforts and achievements I have witnessed—I will never forget these.
Is there anything the school community can be praying about for you in this transition?
Regardless of where I am or whatever I do, I would always ask for prayer that I stay passionate about sharing Jesus. I would also ask for prayer that I will demonstrate gratitude and be honourable towards the opportunity given to me to introduce and grow the Struddys brand here in NSW.
We wish Mr Clifford all the best as he makes this significant change in his working life, and have greatly appreciated his commitment to the ICS community over so many years.
