Our Prep renovations are in full swing! Here’s what’s happened already, and what is still in progress.
In Romans 12, Paul challenges us in light of God’s mercy to offer our lives as pleasing sacrifices to God. The renewal of our mind and doing God’s will is our sacrifice to God. This sacrifice offered to God is our transformation. This year we explored the concept of transformation.
On the second last day of the school year, our secondary students participated in our annual Service Day. It’s a day full of opportunities to help both the school community, and the wider Wollongong community. Here’s a glimpse of some of what our students were up to on the day.
On Wednesday 5th December, K-6 students participated in a STEAM afternoon. Everyone took part in two of 14 different STEAM-based activities that challenged their design, group work and creativity skills.
Things might be winding down at this time of year, but for our primary choir, everything was ramping up as they headed out on their annual Christmas mini-tour!
On November 28, an intrepid band of ICS scientists braved torrential rain and wind to trek to the University of Wollongong for the 2018 Science Fair. Their efforts were amply rewarded!
As a faith-based community, Illawarra Christian School provides a distinct alternative educational choice to parents in the Illawarra. School-based traineeships are a great way for students to combine paid work, training and their time at school—at the same time as gaining an industry-recognised national qualification and credit towards the HSC. Sound too good to be true? It’s exactly what Jessica Turney (ICS ’18) has just accomplished. Here’s how she went about it.
Earlier this term, our intrepid Year 5 performers undertook one of the greatest theatrical challenges there is—Shakespeare! In a number of performances spread across a week, they wowed their audiences, including other students and their very proud families. Three of our performers have here reflected on the experience.
