This morning, our Director of Student Learning Opportunities, Simone Brown, was interviewed on ABC radio Illawarra. She spoke about last week’s first place for our plastICS team in the International Future Problem Solving Championships. Here’s what she had to say.
How many different languages do you know? English, sure. What about French? Spanish? Ever dabbled in a bit of Mandarin?
You probably know Mrs Story best for her funky rockabilly dresses and propensity to dress like a bright red Tinkerbell at every school carnival. When she’s not doing that, you’ll find her teaching History and also coordinating our Junior Secondary Pastoral Care.
This week, our plastICS team are in Wisconsin competing in the International Future Problem Solving championships. It’s been a long road to get to this point, and it all began in a school playground in Wollongong.
Last week’s athletics carnival was a beautiful sunny day (if a bit chilly in the shade). The whole school community from Year 3 upwards spent the day together at Beaton Park.
In History we want to be nurturing critical and creative thinkers. We want our students to be writing on the walls!
