Study Skills
We are passionate about our students doing their best as they honour God through their learning experiences.
To assist them to develop strategies that will allow them to spend study time efficiently and wisely, we draw on the services of Elevate Education.
Elevate is Australia's largest study skills provider, and its programs are a product of 15 years of research into the habits of successful students. Their high impact seminars and workshops help students improve their study techniques, increase motivation, build confidence and lift exam performance.
The program of seminars at Illawarra Christian School runs from Years 7 to 12. It covers the following topics:
- Study Skills Kick Start (Year 7)
- Junior Time Management (Year 8)
- Memory Mnemonics (Year 9)
- Study Sensei/Time Management (Year 10)
- Student Elevation/Ace Your Exams (Year 11)
- Finishing Line (Year 12).
A parent seminar each year provides parents with strategies to help their children navigate the challenges of secondary school. It provides them with an insight into what is being covered with their children and with ways they can support their children at home.
